Chestnut Festival - Sernancelhe

The Chestnut Festival is a national event. Created three decades ago, this event is responsible for the affirmation of the Municipality and the brand image "Land of the Chestnut", which Sernancelhe proudly boasts. 

Promoting the chestnut, being a showcase for producers and companies, boosting the economy, crafts, culture and projecting the territory as a space of history, where identity is cultivated and celebrated, are the strategic lines followed by this event. 

Always scheduled for the end of October, the Chestnut Festival is known for mountain biking, which brings together thousands of athletes and promotes contact with nature, for walking tours, for chestnut contests and for being an authentic manifestation of a secular territory, whose top values are the Chestnut, Aquilino Ribeiro and the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Lapa.
