Between Beira and Douro

Description

Our trip begins in Tabuaço, a balcony between Serros and Rios, and from there we set off to discover the secrets of the Douro region.

The Route “Between Beira and Douro” has its first stop at the Fradinho cliffs, following along the Távora River, south, towards its source. We therefore set out to discover and get to know the Beiras, lands that are filled with legends but it was men, in a gigantic chain of generations, who shaped their history. They sowed bread, raised cattle, opened paths that they connected with bridges, built houses to shelter women and children, some rich, others poor, they always worshiped a God to whom they offered ex-votos in little chapels built in the folds of silent mountains.

The route ends with the return to the origins, to the town of Tabuaço, and to get to know it better, it is mandatory to stop at Miradouro Nossa Senhora da Conceição, to observe it from a privileged place.
