Green spaces:
Tarouca has green spaces such as the Serra de Santa Helena, a place where the calm of nature invades us, and we can go for walks, enjoy the stars at night or even take to the Downhill and Motocross tracks. Morro de Alcácima is a place where youngsters can watch the animals, tend the vegetable garden and play in the park. The Parque Ribeirinho de Tarouca invites you to go for a walk in the middle of nature or have a picnic in the picnic area. It also has a children’s playground, a skate park, a mini-golf course and an outdoor gym.
Museums:
Tarouca has the Casa do Paço de Dalvares and Sparkling Wine Museum, which dates back to the Middle Ages. It currently houses the sparkling wine museum.
Heritage:
Tarouca has several heritage buildings and monuments. The 12th century fortified bridge and tower of Ucanha are particularly noteworthy. Its history is written in its stones. You can find pillories all over the municipality, such as the ones in Tarouca, Ucanha, Mondim da Beira and Várzea da Serra.
You can also find the Romanesque bridges of Vila Pouca de Salzeda, São João de Tarouca and Mondim da Beira.
Other points of interest are: the Paradela Arch, the chapel of Senhora das Necessidades, the Church of São Pedro de Tarouca, the Monastery of Santa Maria de Salzedas and the Monastery of São João de Tarouca.
