Located on the banks of the River Corgo, which divides the beautiful city of Vila Real in half, are the relatively new Corgo Walkways.
Open to the public at the end of 2021, these walkways already have more than 2.5 kilometres of walking paths, which together with the 6 kilometres of footpaths in the Corgo Park attached to these walkways, will guarantee an afternoon of fun, exploration of the local fauna and flora and some physical exercise for all those who decide to take on the adventure of walking them.
Along the way, you’ll discover waterfalls, explore the steep banks of the river and see the Biel hydroelectric power station, built in the 19th century to supply electricity to the city of Vila Real, the first in the country to do so.
As it’s increasingly rare to find virtually untouched nature, with such a vast area, directly in the centre of a city, this experience will certainly be unlike any you’ve had before.
