Description
The Anta de Vilarinho da Castanheira or Pala da Moura as it is also known is located next to the Ribeiro do Coito mill complex. This structure, which no longer shows any trace of its mamoa, is part of a type often seen in megalithic funerary architecture, a polygonal chamber made up of eight shafts, including the head slab. It also has a lid and a corridor facing east. From this primitive corridor it is possible to see four megaliths apparently still in situ. Faint traces of a primitive pictorial composition can be seen on the inside of one of the shafts.
