Description
Built in 1747, it was originally intended to be the parish church of the then parish of S. Faustino da Régua. Due to the lack of stonemasons assigned to the construction of the convent in Mafra, and the constant rising of the river, a more modest church was built, of great artistic simplicity, of which the high altar, in Ionic style, stands out. Outside, you'll find the standard of Senhor da Agonia, dating from the same time and which, with its simple appearance, reinforces the chapel's simplicity. At the top of the chapel are two statues of Roman soldiers: one holding a weight and the other a ruler.
