Description
This fortified settlement is located in the parish of Sabrosa, in the hamlet of Castelo, on the eastern slope of the Serra do Criveiro. The settlement of Sabrosa, whose occupation began in the Iron Age and ended in the Medieval Period, was defended by three orders of walls built with facing stones. A double moat outside the walls reinforces the defense of the station's most vulnerable areas to the west and north. The top redoubt shows several structures: a turret, five houses, access ramps and gates.
