CIVT - Tua Valley Interpretive Center

Description

The Tua Valley Interpretive Center (CIVT) is a space that seeks to reveal the natural and historical wealth of a territory that has been transformed over time by the action of man. The museum is divided into three main themes: the Valley, the Tua Line and the Dam. The theme "The Valley" aims to get the visitor involved with the valley in all its natural and human dimensions. A time capsule is created in a tubular area that takes the visitor on a journey of thousands of years, from the geological and natural dimension of the valley to its settlement. In the theme "The Tua Line" the aim is to remember and bring together. The idea is to make visitors remember the railroad and understand the local reality, being able to get involved with the feelings of the inhabitants at the loss of access to the train. The connection between the railroad and the residents of the Douro and Trás-os-Montes is the moment being celebrated. The theme "The Dam" aims to make the visitor understand the dam and demonstrate the relationship established by the design of architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, between the landscape and the demands of technology.
