Fraga da Pena

Description

In 1527, Tões was a simple and humble place, with just 30 inhabitants. At that time there was no independent parish of Santa Senhorinha, Tões being an annex of the parish of S. Miguel de Armamar. The primitive temple of Santa Maria was located in the place of Cortinhas and from there the cult of Sra. da Guia arose. The current temple dates back to the beginning of the 17th century. Tões produces wine, fruit and potatoes. Cereals, wheat and rye were grown intensively in other times. Monte Raso was considered the great "granary" in the parish and beyond.
