Description
It is the only classified national monument in the municipality. It is an example of medieval architecture (Romanesque style). According to tradition, the church was built with stones from the demolished Armamar Castle, before the foundation of the Salzedas Monastery. Its construction probably dates back to the late 12th and early 13th centuries. It is quite likely that the current church succeeded an old chapel or hermitage of the same invocation (prior to the 12th century) that arose from some pagan Castro cult.
