Description
It is located in the heart of Armamar, next to the Mother Church. From here you can see down below the village of São Joaninho, situated in a small valley, where in summer temperatures easily reach 40 degrees centigrade. Further on in the landscape you can see the Douro valley and the Marão mountain range on the horizon. Next to this Miradouro is the Misarela waterfall, where the waters of the River Temilobos rush on their journey towards the Douro. It's a beautiful place, especially for the scenery it offers, and one that the popular imagination has filled with tales and legends. For a better view of the waterfall, visitors are advised to drive down the road towards São Joaninho and stop just after leaving Armamar. From there they can contemplate this natural monument.
