Douro Viewpoint

The Miradouro do Douro is located halfway up the hillside facing the river Douro, has its own leisure area and is perfectly integrated into the landscape. From here you can see in detail a wide stretch of the Douro river and all its surroundings, the vineyards laid out on terraces, the characteristic architecture of the Port wine estates and the riverside villages. Located in the Alto Douro Wine Region, a protected area classified as a National Monument, it is also part of the area classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001, in the category of Cultural, Evolving and Living Landscape. As well as contemplating the river and its man-made slopes, it is also possible to see the Douro Railway Line, in the section that winds along the left bank of the Douro River, just before crossing it and following it parallel for many kilometers on the opposite bank.
